Please join us for the 2Hand Revolution DIY Holiday Craft Show.

You’ll find an emphasis on affordable and useful goods made from recycled materials, including mama-made clothes and toys, awesome pottery, stationery, jewelry and even – wait for it – bloomers.

Most of our crafters are selling their stuff on Etsy and at Vancouver independent shops. And 90 percent of the crafters are from Southwest Washington.

We are also featuring a number of fair trade and “purposeful purchasing” organizations, including Equal Exchange, Canaan Fair Trade, Cafe Femenino Foundation, Urban Farm School, Mint Tea Imports, Dee Creek Farm and SW CSA Farmers and the Vancouver Food Co-op.

Pick up an edition of the new North Bank Magazine on Nov. 14 for in-depth coverage on a number of the crafters and more about the handmade scene in Southwest Washington.

The show will be kid/family friendly and its aim is to showcase edgy crafts and handmade wares.

The event is free and open to the public.

Soaring Crane Qigong and
Sacred Serpent Spiral Qigong

Soaring Crane Qigong (SCQ) imitates the elegant movements of the red headed crane known for its graceful nature and long life. This qigong form uses mental visualization and gentle movements resembling those of Tai Chi. With thousands of qigong forms available this form of medical qigong is one of the best known in China for its overall effectiveness. SCQ is recommended for serious health concerns as well as for health maintenance.

Sacred Spiral Qigong (S3) is a form of spontaneous qigong developed by Christina Bjergo, LAc. Through visualization using Nature’s wisdom the inner movement of qi becomes an external movement. This process helps to remove blockages creating improvements in mind/body health.

Eight weeks will be spent on SCQ and the final week on S3.

YOGA MOVES FOR KIDS!

Children ages 4 through 12 will stretch and strengthen not only their bodies, but their imaginations as well.

Traditional hatha yoga asanas (poses) will be presented in a playful, imaginative way, focusing on breath and body awareness.

Children will also engage in other types of creative movement (such as scarf dancing ) to further enhance feelings of well-being, joy, and connection to self.

A Course in Miracles

A Course in Miracles was "scribed" by Dr. Helen Schucman through a process of inner dictation she identified as coming from Jesus. A clinical and research psychologist and tenured Associate Professor of Medical Psychology, she was assisted by Dr. William Thetford, her department head, who was also a tenured Professor of Medical Psychology at the Medical Center where they both worked.

What exactly, then, is A Course in Miracles? The summary introduction, which appears in its Text, is quite succinct and brief. It reads:

"This is a course in miracles. It is a required course. Only the time you take it is voluntary. Free will does not mean that you can establish the curriculum. It means only that you can elect what you want to take at a given time. The course does not aim at teaching the meaning of love, for that is beyond what can be taught. It does aim, however, at removing the blocks to the awareness of love's presence, which is your natural inheritance. The opposite of love is fear, but what is all-encompassing can have no opposite.

     This course can therefore be summed up very simply in this way:
          Nothing real can be threatened. Nothing unreal exists.                              Herein lies the peace of God
